What to Know to Make the Most of World Expo of Beer
One of Michigan's largest beer sampling events is held right here in Michigan's Little Bavaria, with anywhere from 200-400 beers on tap each year. Here's what you need to know before planning your visit.
The 27th Annual World Expo of Beer, presented by the Frankenmuth Jaycees, is upon us. And you can bet it'll be full to the rim with fun!
Keep reading to learn more about what to expect at this year's event.
1. When and where is the event?
World Expo of Beer 2024 will be held on Friday, May 17 from 5-10PM and Saturday, May 18 from 2-10PM. The event will take place in Heritage Park and the Harvey Kern Pavilion, 601 Weiss Street.
2. How much does it cost and what do I get?
Tickets includes your admission into the event, a souvenir mug for sampling, six sampling tickets, and the knowledge that your sampling experience helps out dozens of charities and non-profit organizations financially. The ticket price is $35 per person at the door, or $30 per person pre-purchased online.
This event exists for the sole purpose of raising funds to infuse back into the local community. All proceeds from the event are donated back to local and state charitable efforts.
3. How many beers will be available for sampling?
Almost 60 breweries will be in attendance, and each one usually has an average of 4-6 beers on tap... so the answer is a lot!
There will be 18-20 breweries present in each one of our beer tents.
4. Can I buy a ticket at the door?
Yes, cash or card are accepted. At the door, the cost is $35 or you can buy online for $30. Both purchases include admission to the event, souvenir mug, and 6 drink tickets. Additional tickets can be purchased at the event for 3 for $5. If you'd like to purchase tickets online, you can visit the ticket link (worldexpoofbeer.com/p/tickets).
5. Will there be food or souvenirs for purchase?
Yes, of course! There will be several food trucks and other food vendors in attendance. Make sure to bring cash just in case as some may not take credit cards for payment.
There will also be awesome souvenirs for sale as well as great gifts for your friends and family! Some popular items that will be sold include the 2024 World Expo of Beer® short and long sleeved t-shirts that have the participating breweries listed on the back and much more! All proceeds are donated to charity!
6. Will there be a shuttle?
Yes, there are free shuttle buses to and from the hotels and campgrounds in Frankenmuth and Birch Run. Shuttle service will run on Friday from 4-11pm and on Saturday from 1-11pm. Visit the Transportation and Hotels page on the festival website for more details.
7. Can I bring my dog or my child?
The only people that can attend are those of legal drinking age, so dogs, cats, kids, and every other creature that isn't a human over the age of 21 cannot enter the event grounds.
