Four Seasons of Fun
One of the most beautiful things about traveling in Michigan is the diverse offerings that seemingly change with the wind.
With so many attractions and events that offer a uniquely seasonal experience, you might have to plan four trips to Frankenmuth this year to take it all in!
Spring in Frankenmuth includes a celebration of renewed life surrounding the Easter holiday with a cultural experience born from the roots of our community. It is also a beautiful time to watch the festivals and flowers begin to blossom again. A true sign that summer is just around the corner. There is an incredible sense of JOY and charm when shops owners can be seen sweeping their porches instead of shoveling the walkways.
Memorial Day Weekend in Michigan often signifies the kickoff to the Summer and Frankenmuth’s “Launch to the Summer” is a great way to enjoy it! An amazing weekend with Hot Air Balloons, and the Dog Bowl capped off with one of the few Michigan firework shows to embrace this special holiday weekend. Memorial Day may be the kickoff but the fun lasts all summer long with endless festivals and events.
The summer sun also welcomes warm strolls along beautiful Main Street which is adorned with impressive landscapes and floral displays that are inspired by the Bavarian roots of the community. It is truly a gardener’s playground that helps visitors escape the everyday in the authentic Bavarian atmosphere.
The roots of the community also include an agricultural foundation, which is still an important part of the local economy, so it’s no surprise that Frankenmuth hosts many festivals during the Fall harvest season. Some of the largest, in fact. The Big Block Party for Auto Fest is one of only a couple times a year that Main Street is closed and is filled with classic cars and spectators. The celebration continues with the Frankenmuth Oktoberfest, which was the first Oktoberfest outside of Munich, sanctioned by the state of Bavaria to be hosted in America.
Of course, Frankenmuth is known for its food even more than it is festivals, so naturally the harvest dinner events and even the traditional chicken dinners are most popular this time of year. There is just something about the fall that gets people in the mood for the holidays, which we happen to love in Frankenmuth!
Christmas time in Frankenmuth? Anytime, we say, as the home to Bronner’s CHRISTmas Wonderland! Winter is a great time for guests to take advantage of those great school breaks in our water parks and fully embrace the magic of the winter with the Snowfest featuring International snow and ice carving competitions!
No matter when you choose to explore Frankenmuth, good times and friendly hospitality await you.
Make a plan to stay for a weekend each season to experience all Michigan's Little Bavaria has to offer.
