Christmas in July: Group Itinerary
In Frankenmuth, it’s Christmas every day of the year! While the Christmas season is a little more special with decorations adoring the Bavarian architecture, spectacular singing tree, and festive lights around every corner, the Christmas magic can still be felt in July and every other month of the year...

This sample 3-day, 2-night itinerary allows your group to celebrate a 'cool' Christmas in Frankenmuth without the winter chill!
Day 1:
Start your trip off by arriving at the Visitor Center. This is the perfect place to allow your group a chance to use the restroom, stretch their legs, and have a personalized greeting from one of our friendly elves! (Allow 20-30 minutes)
While at the Visitor Center, pick up a step-on guide for a tour of Frankenmuth! This informational tour will take you to all of the historical highlights around town. (Allow 1 hour)
Add a little Christmas history to your step-on guided tour, with a stop at St.Lorenz Church, founded in 1845 and dedicated on Christmas Day 1846. This historical site features one-of-a-kind stained glass windows, a replica log cabin, and the original bells that were brought by the settlers. (Allow 30 minutes-1 hour)
Next head to the Bavarian Inn Restaurant for a hands-on pretzel rolling experience. This traditional German treat has ties to Christmas markets and events around the world. (Allow 30 minutes)
Wrap up day one, by gathering around the dinner table at the Bavarian Inn Restaurant or Zehnder’s of Frankenmuth with the all-you-can-eat, family-style chicken dinner - a favorite holiday experience in Frankenmuth. (Allow 2 hours)
End your night with live music, while they probably aren’t playing Christmas music - you may be able to request your favorite holiday tune! The Lorelei Lounge at the Bavarian Inn Restaurant offers live music every day or if you are visiting during the summer, you can often find live music outside at one of the many restaurants along Main Street.
Day 2:
Begin day two at Bronner’s CHRISTmas Wonderland. Browse the more than 50,000 gifts, trims, and decor, visit the Program Center for an educational video of the store's history, and walk across the parking lot to Silent Night Memorial Chapel. (Allow at least 2 hours).
Next head to River Place Shops where you’ll find over 30 boutiques and shops - perfect for early Christmas shopping for others or souvenir shopping for yourself. (Allow 2-2.5 hours here for shopping and lunch on your own at one of the many tasty restaurants)
Fun Fact: There was a Christmas movie filmed at River Place Shops!
Hop aboard the Bavarian Belle. This ‘Belle’ is one you won’t find at Christmas time, so take advantage of the warm weather and enjoy the hour long cruise along the Cass River. (Allow 1 hour)
Lace up your shopping shoes and head to Main Street to explore the shops, boutiques, and one-of-a-kind stores that are the perfect place to cross off some of the people on your Christmas shopping list. (Allow 1.5 hours)
Finish your time downtown with a guided tour of the Frankenmuth Woolen Mill. Add on the Make-Your-Own Dryer Ball experience for a homemade Christmas gift that you can keep or share, if you choose. (Allow 1-1.5 hours)
Now gather around the table for a group meal that is brewed right here in town at the Frankenmuth Brewery. Pair a little history with your dinner and add on a brewery tour. (Allow 1.5 - 2 hours)
Before heading to the hotel for the evening, drive through Christmas Lane to check out the beautiful lights that shine bright every day of the year beginning at dusk! (Allow 10 minutes)
Day 3:
Start your last day with a stop at the Frankenmuth Clock Company. Keep track of time during the holidays with one of the special Christmas clocks they have! (Allow 45 minutes)
Journey to Grandpa Tiny’s Farm, or should we say Santa’s Reindeer Farm. At Christmas time this historic working farm transforms into a winter wonderland experience where you can meet two of Santa’s reindeer. While the reindeer may be resting and snow may be melted, this farm offers a variety of group experiences that will leave your group feeling jolly! (Allow 1-1.5 hours)
